Course Outline

This course is designed and developed for beer sommeliers that will use their extensive beer and sensory knowledge to design beer menus and manage beer portfolios and present beer and food pairings.  The focus is on extending sensory knowledge of beer styles & beer and food pairings, developing the skills to consult on beer menu creation, and evaluation of beer based on true to style evaluations.

Program Highlights:
  1. Expert Sensory Analysis - Evaluate 16 significant beer styles and their sensory elements, including the effects of water quality and glassware on beer​.
  2. Custom Beer Portfolio Development - Design a tailored beer menu for a restaurant, incorporating pairing principles and sensory evaluations​.
  3. Advanced Beer and Food Pairing Techniques - Execute sophisticated pairing exercises, documenting recipes and pairings with rationale​.
  4. Specialized Exams and Blind Tastings - Engage in rigorous exams, including a beer dinner design and 25 blind tastings, testing advanced sensory and pairing skills​.
